Plastic cover is necessary for places with an often snowfall, an ice or an icing on the antenna. It decreases an aerodynamic resistance too.
Bad weather conditions like a snowing or an icing on the antenna affects quality of signal strength. For all seasons operation it is necessary to use a plastic cover (“radome”) for the antenna, which averting creating of the icing and prevent antenna from the snow.
Cover is installed with the screws in the periphery of the antenna.
