The VCF104M is the ideal accompaniment to a fiber to the premises (FTTP) rollout, where fiber is used to provide the main line access and copper cable is split off to provide access to the satellites, or the VCF104M can be used to eliminate all-together the expense and hassle of fiber cable and equipment, leased line, and other data line services, saving you time and money.
TheXtendLan VCF104M VDSL2 CO Modem comes ready for instant plug and play operation right out of the box for distances up to 4,900 feet (1,500 m). The VCF104M features auto-sensing/auto-configurating link operation, so there's no configuration required other than setting the networking address parameters (if required for your network). The VCF104M also features the ability to combine telephone (POTS/ISDN/PBX) service over the same 2 wires and features built-in POTS/ISDN splitters to eliminate external splitter devices.
The XtendLan VCF104M VDSL2 CO Modem is simple to install and use. The VCF104M is typically located in the Central Office, Computer Room, Wiring Closet, or other central location and one of its RJ-45 Ethernet Port connects to a router or switch while its RJ-11 Phone port connects to the RJ-11 telephone jack or PBX, if the POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service)/ISDN feature is utilized. Next, the Line Port of the VCF104M is connected to the 2-wire twisted pair network cable or phone line extending to the remote device location. Then, a compatible remote unit such as the VCF104S Remote Unit is placed at the remote location and the Line Port is connected to network cable or phone line connection, the Ethernet Port/s are connected to the Ethernet port/s of the remote network device/s (NIC, router, switch, Access Port, etc.), and the Phone Port is connected to the telephone set or fax machine (if applicable). Next, the VDSL2 CPE Modem is connected to the AC power source and the link is established automatically on power up and is automatically configured for the maximum speed based on length and quality of the network cable or phone line. No line rate configuration required!
